| Though best known as a children's book illustrator, he also creates gallery art and portraits, writes fiction and nonfiction, and is involved with graphic design. | |
His work has won several awards. He has given lectures and workshops at the Maryland Institute College of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Muscarelle Museum in Williamsburg, and at various conventions of the International Reading Association. |
