Artist's Statement: "I have always had an interest in both film and painting. This past winter, I studied the relationships between the two mediums which ultimately led to the beginning of my “Five Obstructions” series inspired by the work of Jørgen Leth and Lars von Trier. |

| I decided to explore the different ways in which the idea of an obstruction could be applied to painting. | |
| In this I wanted to challenge myself to counter my traditional way of approaching a painting. Within my body of work, I took cues from painters such at Martin Kippenberger and Albert Oehlen." | |
