Artist's Statement:
"Recently my work has dealt with the themes of human potential and inspiration. Using myth and metaphor I address the individual’s role in shaping culture and society. |
|
| Imaginary Friends illustrates examples in film where characters are unable to discern reality from the imagined. Fight Club in particular could be seen as a cautionary tale to those unwilling or unable to achieve their potential. |
| American Girl and The Dryad Inversed are examples of how a person can alter their surroundings when they utilize what’s inside them. The birds are a metaphor for potential, which the girl releases into the world, while others have birds still trapped in their 'cages.' Inversed colors serve as a visual cue that the surrounding world is being altered." |
