Biography:

Jay studied art at the University of Minnesota before taking a photojournalism internship in Lakeland Florida in 1988. After the internship he took a job with the Tampa Tribune, and has worked there ever since.

 
Jay was on the Board of Directors of the National Press Photographers Association from 1991 to 1997. Positions held include Regional Director, National Public Relations Chairman and 1997 NPPA National Convention Chairman.

He continues to speak about the advancement of photojournalism to local high schools and Florida Universities whenever requested.

Jay is married with one beautiful daughter, one grouchy cat and a Boston Terrier that smells like buttered popcorn when sleeping.
